I don't know how valuable these sessions will be if you already know something about the application process, but the mere fact they want to help people with library job applications bodes well for job openings!

Developing your Professional e-Portfolio: 02/14/2012

I spotted this on Kateway and thought it might interest some of you who joined the program before the new requirements (cause I guess newbies will get some e-portfolio instruction?).
Create your e-portfolio in this free workshop series. Classes meet 4:15 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings. Open to all Minneapolis and St. Paul students. Due to limited class size pre-registration is required.
A free six–session workshop series entitled, "Developing an e-Portfolio for Professional Job and Graduate School Search" will be offered once again during spring semester. Students will learn the basics of how to design and create an electronic portfolio through small group instruction. This type of e-portfolio will be used for the purpose of marketing oneself in the job search and/or graduate school application process. Students must pre-register for this course. This workshop series is designed as progressive instruction. Open to all St. Paul and Minneapolis students. Workshop will meet on February 14 and 21; March 6 and 27; April 10 and 24. Due to space limitations, this is a first–come, first served registration process. Students can register by phone x8730), or email Questions can be addressed to Ellen Richter-Norgel, Director of Student Retention and Course Instructor. (This workshop series will be offered again fall semester, 2012.)
