Speaker: Tasha Nins

Past graduate of the MLIS program and current Children's Librarian Tasha Nins will be visiting this upcoming Tuesday, November 19! 

Tasha will be speaking about her experiences in the St. Kate's MLIS program and how they have translated into her career managing the Createch makerspace at Saint Paul Public Library and working as a Children's Librarian at Ramsey County Library.

MLIS Potluck

The MLIS student groups are hosting a Halloween potluck! On Monday, October 21st from 4:30-6:00 in CdC 20 we'll be sharing snacks, painting mini pumpkins, and hanging out. Hope to see you there!

Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read and the importance of the First Amendment. Intellectual freedom (the freedom to access information and express ideas, even if the information and ideas might be considered unorthodox or unpopular) provides the foundation for Banned Books Week.

To celebrate, we're having a Banned Books Week Contest!

-Winner gets a $20 gift card!

-Participants create a project for Banned Books Week.

-Projects can be multimedia (i.e. a poster, a short podcast, a sculpture, a video, etc. with the theme of Banned Books Week)

-Projects are due at the end of Banned Books Week on Saturday, September 28 (11:59pm)

-Must be a student at St. Catherine University to participate
